What is IUC?
Interconnect Usage Charge also known as IUC. It’s a cost paid by one mobile telecom operator to another when its customers make outgoing mobile calls to the other operator’s customers. These calls between two different networks are known as mobile off-net calls. IUC charges are fixed by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) and are currently at 6 paise/minute. (Source)
Jio IUC Charges
Now any recharge you make after 10th October you will need another additional IUC top-up. This top-up will be added to your regular talk time and will be deducted at the rate of 6paise/min whenever you make calls on other network operators. To compensate these charges, Jio will be offering 1GB data per IUC top-up of worth ₹10.
Jio IUC Pack Recharge Plans 2020
Jio is offering four new IUC plans that also come with additional data benefits in order to ensure there is no increase in tariff for customers.

6 paise per minute charge will only apply for Jio users calling non-Jio users. All Jio to Jio calls will continue to remain free. opting for a top-up is not mandatory but you need to do a top-up only if you want to make an outgoing non-Jio mobile call. All other domestic connectivity services do not entail any additional charge.
What is the validity of this IUC Top-Up?
- To ensure our customers remain the beneficiary of every tariff & scheme, the IUC top-up pack does not have any validity
- That is, you can top-up your account and retain this balance till you want
- This balance gets deducted only when you make an outgoing non-Jio mobile call or any other relevant service
